RESPONSIBILITY EUROPE ASSOCIATION

The Responsibility Europe Association, based in Luxembourg, carries the Responsibility Europe CSR Label. Currently, it is composed of the following member organisations which guarantee common values (no conflict of interest, no dependence on third party funding, European values, continuous improvement of standards) and each deploys a leading SD/CSR label or certification.

AFNOR Group (France)

The AFNOR Group is an international association with 14 offices in France, as well as in France’s overseas territories, and operating in more than 100 countries through its 38 international branches, it designs and implements solutions based on voluntary standards (consensual documents drawn up by and for market players) to promote economic development and innovation.

For more than twenty years, the AFNOR group has been supporting and promoting organisations in the field of social responsibility, based on the ISO 26000 standard. In 2026, more than 900 organisations will be be awarded the Engagé RSE label and make up its community.

INDR – National Institute for Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility (Luxembourg)

The INDR is the leading organization for the national ESR (ENTREPRISE RESPONSABLE) program in Luxembourg. Since 2007, it has been helping organizations integrate corporate social responsibility into their strategy and highlighting their commitment through a recognized certification.

As the custodian of the ESR framework, the INDR ensures its continuous evolution in consultation with companies and stakeholders to address emerging challenges and changes in the regulatory framework. It develops tools and services that facilitate implementation, brings together an ecosystem of committed stakeholders, and helps strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of organizations through the continuous improvement of their practices.

In 2026, more than 375 Luxembourg organizations have been awarded the ESR – ENTREPRISE RESPONSABLE certification.

Ecoparc Association & Globalité Management (Switzerland)

The EcoEntreprise Programme was developed in Switzerland by the Ecoparc Association and Globalité Management. The Ecoparc Association, a pioneer in facilitating and implementing sustainable development since 2000, is a key player in Switzerland in supporting public authorities, companies and civil society in integrating SD/ CSR issues. Globalité Management and a network of partners are in charge of the deployment of the Enterprise Programme, the Swiss benchmark for the assessment, enhancement and certification of the SD/CSR processes of companies and all other types of organisations.

Ecoparc and Globalité collaborate with numerous training institutions, certification bodies, professional associations and coaches/consultants in order to provide concrete, credible and recognised solutions through the national EcoEntreprise CSR Programme.

Currently, 250 companies are certified EcoEntreprise CSR and more than 500 are engaged in the process.

Primum Non Nocere (France)

Primum Non Nocere is a CSR coaching agency, expert in the fields of sustainable development, environmental health and health safety. The agency carries out CSR diagnoses and technical studies (energy audits, greenhouse gas emission assessments, waste, purchasing, quality of life at work diagnoses, etc.) with the provision of tools and monitoring indicators adapted to different organisations.

For Primum Non Nocere, environmental health is too often absent from the many subjects covered by CSR. The THQSE quality label (Very High Health, Social and Environmental Quality) takes into account these proven risks so that organisations integrate environmental health into their social responsibility strategy. Thus, the THQSE label focuses on solutions that are possible today in the face of tomorrow’s dangers.

UNICEM entreprises engagées (France)

Created by the National Union of Quarry Industries and Building Materials (UNICEM), a professional federation which gathers industries that extract and produce the mineral materials needed by the construction and public works sectors (aggregates, natural stone, ready-mix concrete, etc.), the UNICEM Entreprises Engagés (UEE) organization leads the industry’s environmental and social progress initiative, which aims for the continuous improvement of sector practices: the Mineral Industries CSR Label.

Thanks to the support actions, training, information and communication tools and the sharing of good practices that it offers to its members, as well as the actions to promote the CSR label that it leads with stakeholders, UEE will have, by 2026, more than 1,900 sites committed to the CSR Label for the Mineral Industries and representing more than 50% of the industry’s production volume.

BioED (France)

Led by Synabio since 2014, BioED (BioEntrepriseDurable) is the CSR certification for organic food and cosmetics companies. Originally developed for processing companies, the standard was expanded to organic cosmetics companies in 2022 and to specialized organic retailers in 2025. It now applies to a broader range of organizations across the organic sector.

Based on the principles of the ISO 26000 standard, BioED guides organic companies toward a responsible and sustainable transition by evaluating and promoting their environmental, social, and economic commitments. From the initial assessment to the certification audit conducted by an independent third party organization, the BioED team supports companies at every stage of the process.

Nearly 90 companies and specialized retailers are currently participating in the BioED program in France.

PLANET’RSE (France)

PLANET’RSE is an organization dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Founded in Loire-Atlantique in 2014, the association supports microbusinesses, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and other organizations in evaluating and structuring their CSR initiatives based on a commitment backed by evidence. As an independent nonprofit, it offers an educational approach tailored to local realities and the specific challenges of each region, with two solutions: START for getting started with CSR (peer-to-peer audit) and Planet’RSE 26000 for obtaining certification (on-site and audited by an independent third party). It brings together 91 companies from 52 distinct sectors, primarily in the Pays de la Loire region.

It created the PLANET’RSE 26000 certification, which complies with all the principles and guidelines of ISO 26000. This certification was developed in collaboration with AFNOR CERTIFICATION, which also audited its certification process.

The Federation of Social Integration Enterprises (France)

La fédération des entreprises d’insertion brings together social integration compagnies and temporary employment agencies focused on social integration, all united around the social integration model. It takes a comprehensive, 360° approach, involving business leaders and employees, to develop sustainable pathways back to work for as many vulnerable people as possible.

Le label RSEi (Responsabilité Sociétale des Entreprises Inclusives) was created by the federation, in collaboration with and for the benefit of inclusive businesses, to support continuous improvement efforts in both sustainable development and inclusion. Through its awareness, support, and training initiatives, the federation helps its members strengthen their sustainability and inclusion practices. By 2026, the RSEi label will include more than 230 RSEi-certified companies across more than 450 sites in Metropolitan France and Réunion.

CGEM (Morocco)

The CGEM is the voice of the private sector in Morocco. Founded in 1947, it represents more than 90,000 direct and affiliated members, 95% of whom are micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises. It has established itself as the official representative of the private sector in dealings with government authorities, social partners, and institutional stakeholders. The CGEM serves as the voice of the private sector by representing it, defending its interests at the regional, national, and international levels, and working to foster a business climate conducive to entrepreneurship.

Committed since 2006 to promoting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the business world, the Confederation has adopted a Corporate Social Responsibility charter and a “CSR Label” to recognize committed companies and encourage them to pursue continuous improvement.

Confederation of Socially Responsible Businesses of Tunisia (Tunisia)

Founded in 2011, the Confederation of Citizen Enterprises of Tunisia, “CONECT” is a trade union and citizen employers’ organization that brings together Tunisian and foreign SMEs operating in several sectors and in all regions. It is dedicated to defending the interests of its members by representing them to public authorities and various partners, as well as to the promotion of business and private initiative in order to develop the economic and social fabric of the country.

In this regard, CONECT has created a CSR label adapted to the economic fabric of a developing country. Experts have been trained in the application of this label, companies have responded and are currently in the pilot phase of labeling. CONECT is working to spread an awareness of the economic and social benefits of its CSR label, designed in a dynamic way.

The CONECT CSR label initiates the company, once engaged in a labeling process, to be part of a dynamic of continuous improvement, to have a global vision and a strategy that project it into the future, to improve its competitiveness and to gain a more advantageous positioning on the market, while promoting the benevolence of its employees and partners towards it.

The Groupement de la Fabrication Française (GFF) (France)

The GROUPEMENT DE LA FABRICATION FRANÇAISE, G.F.F is an association governed by the Law of July 1, 1901 for the promotion and defense of the interests of the manufacture of clothing products and related activities of French origin. Its objective is to promote the economic development of the fashion ecosystem by supporting clothing manufacturers with the ambition to contribute to the influence of French know-how on national and international territory.

Since 2020, and supported by the Défi Mode (Comité de Promotion et de Développement pour les Entreprises de l’habillement), the GFF has launched a reflection on the deployment of a CSR approach for the clothing sector.

The GFF has a sectoral CSR label allowing:

  • to enhance good practices (HR, environment, French manufacturing…),
  • to bring new assets to customers (only one system valid for 3 years…),
  • to engage in a new dialogue with all stakeholders.

Governance of the Responsibility Europe Association

The Responsibility Europe association is based on a structured governance guaranteeing transparent, effective management in accordance with its statutes. It relies on four main bodies: the Board of Directors (CA), the Steering Committee (COPIL), the General Assembly (AG) and the Scientific Committee (CS).

The Board of Directors (CA)

Composition :

  • 3 founding members: AFNOR, INDR, EcoEntreprise
  • 2 to 3 additional members
  • The Bureau consists of a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer

Vice-President:
Agathe Barret, CSR coordinator at Primum Non Nocere/Grant Thornton

Treasurer:
Stanislas Faure, Deputy Director – Senior Advisor at the INDR

Missions:

  • Definition and monitoring of the association’s strategy
  • Ensuring compliance with statutes and internal rules
  • Preparation of General Meetings (AG)
  • Development and validation of the roadmap
  • Financial management and budget validation
  • Drafting of the Annual Activity Report

The General Assembly (AG)

Role:

The sovereign body of the association, the GA validates institutional and statutory decisions.

Composition:

  • All members of the association with labels
  • Invited advisory bodies such as the Scientific Committee

Missions:

  • Approval of the Annual Activity Report
  • Validation of accounts and budget
  • Election of directors
  • Decision to exclude a member if necessary

The General Assembly meets once a year.

The Scientific Committee (SC)

Role:

Body intended to strengthen the quality, relevance and influence of its work.

Composition:

  • Presidency: Alain Jounot, former president of the association
  • Brings together personalities from the academic world and research

Missions:

  • Independent scientific look at the current and future issues of CSR
  • Advice and recommendations on the roadmap and annual work program
  • Vigilance on alignment with international standards: UN/SDG, European Commission, ISO…
  • Scientific and technological monitoring (methodologies, AI, innovations) and evaluation of their impact on CSR practices

The Steering Committee (SC)

Role:

An operational and consultative body that brings together all association members, similar to the General Assembly but in a less formal setting. It meets as often as necessary, depending on current developments and the association’s ongoing projects.

 

Composition:

  • Brings together all members of the association
  • Convened on an ad hoc basis according to operational needs and project milestones

 

Missions:

  • Share key information and updates across the association
  • Present and discuss the work and outcomes of the different Working Groups (WGs)
  • Serve as a consultative body without decision-making authority, complementing the association’s governance bodies
